Introduction

Rhamil42, a 41-year-old man, decided that mid-life was the perfect time to get in shape. After being out of shape for years, Rhamil42 committed to a calorie deficit and a lifting routine. The results? A 19-pound weight loss in just three and a half months.

Caloric Deficit

Rhamil42 disclosed that he didn't kill himself in the gym, but rather focused on a calorie deficit. He didn't do much cardio and lifted modestly. Additionally, his job has him walking 14k steps a day. His primary focus was weight loss and not necessarily building muscle, which he admitted came naturally.

Muscle Growth

Rhamil42 used his progress as a catalyst to begin lifting more and more, as he was delighted to see muscles coming in. He notes that his muscles grew as he had not worked out hard for years. Rhamil42 was eating super low-calorie meals rich in protein and lifting weights three times a week.

Creatine & Protein

Rhamil42 used mere creatine and protein powder as supplements. He says that he doesn't know how TRT works, and he has no idea where to find such items or how to consume them. Hence his gains were purely from protein-rich foods and powders.

1500 is Plenty

Rhamil42 attributes his weight loss to the subreddit, '1500isplenty.' According to BMI, Rhamil42 was overweight at 189 despite his height, which motivated him to lose weight. With his current success, Rhamil42 is now aiming to cut ten more pounds before bulking up, which means upping his caloric intake.
