Introduction

Achieving one’s ideal body can be a challenging but fulfilling experience, and for Reddit user, neptunesmoon, the journey to hitting her goal weight of 145 pounds was no exception. In her post, she shared how she was able to achieve this through consistent training, macro tracking, and intermittent fasting (IF).

Training and routine

Neptunesmoon trained for six days a week, which involved five days of lifting and one day of cardio. Her lifting days were split into legs, push, legs, pull, and full-body - a routine she changed every 6-8 weeks. She trained for around 60-70 minutes per day, and her lifting routine consisted of six exercises focused on progressive overload. She started with lifting, and after adding high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and macro tracking in April, she began to see significant results.

Macro tracking and IF

Neptunesmoon’s macro target was C193 F32 P110. She admits she doesn't hit them as consistently as she should, but has popularized her love for carbs, which explained the high amount of carbs in her diet. Additionally, she followed intermittent fasting (IF), an eating pattern that restricts the hours she eats, and allows her to consume all her calories in a set period. This helped to regulate her hunger hormone - ghrelin - and decreased the likelihood of consuming unnecessary calories.

Progress and rates

In five months, neptunesmoon lost 25 pounds, decreasing from 170 to 145 pounds, and losing an average of one pound a week. Her progress was consistent, although there were some weeks where she lost no weight or lost more than two pounds. She admitted that it was not until recently that she began to see significant progress, with the previous months taking a toll on her mind and body awareness.

Inspiration and takeaways

Although neptunesmoon's journey was hard work, her progress proves that consistent training, macro tracking, and IF can all pay off. Her story has inspired others, with many Reddit users noting how her progress motivated them to continue with their weight loss journeys. While everyone's fitness goals and body composition may differ, her journey can serve as a reminder that the mind’s perseverance and determination can drive desired results.
