The Beginning

When -Mythrowaway began his journey to a healthier weight, he was a young man in his late teens weighing 172 lbs at a height of 6'2". His goal was to drop weight and gain muscle, eventually settling at a healthy weight of 180 lbs. As he chronicled his progress on Reddit, he was motivated and held accountable by the supportive community, despite the occasional trolls and nay-sayers.

Starting Small

The first method -Mythrowaway used to initiate his weight loss journey was simple: regular walks. He started with 1 mile per day, slowly increasing the distance until he was regularly walking 5 miles a day. Eventually, he incorporated other forms of exercise such as swimming to mix it up so as to not get bored. He also started to work on his diet by eliminating junk food, fast food, and anything that did not meet his personal health goals.

Switching It Up

As -Mythrowaway's weight loss journey progressed, he made changes to his routine to continue seeing progress. He increased the intensity of his workouts to build more muscle, started to incorporate weight lifting, and began to track his food intake closely. This helped him understand where he was consuming too many calories and what he could do to make healthier choices. He also realized that finding a workout routine he enjoyed was critical to his success, rather than forcing himself to exercise just because it was the "right thing to do."

The Plateau

At one point during his journey, -Mythrowaway found himself stuck at a weight loss plateau that lasted for several weeks. He kept up with his exercise routine and was still eating healthy, but the weight wouldn't budge. To break through the plateau, he incorporated high-intensity interval training (HIIT) into his workouts and started drinking more water. With these changes, he was finally able to break through and start seeing progress again.

The End Result

After several months of hard work and dedication, -Mythrowaway ultimately achieved his goal of reaching a healthy weight of 180 lbs while also gaining muscle mass. His journey serves as an example for anyone looking to improve their health and fitness. By starting small and making gradual changes, -Mythrowaway was able to create lasting habits that led to personal transformation. Remember that every little bit counts, so don't be afraid to take that first step towards a healthier you.
