Introduction

Kobraolol, a 25-year-old, 5'8'' Redditor has embarked on a fitness journey and, after shedding 78bs and moving closer to his ideal body weight, he took to the popular website to chronicle his experience.

The Previous Bulker

Before going on the cutting diet, Kobraolol weighed over 230-240lbs - a result of being a self-proclaimed victim of permabulking since 18. Prior to that, he weighed a mere 140 lbs in high school. However, he never quite got ready mentally for such an undertaking until 13 months ago.

The Journey

It was a learning experience for Kobraolol at first. The diet was sloppy, right from the beginning, due to being too novice to dieting and eating clean food. During the first few months, he lost a lot of weight, muscle, and strength. Eating tuna, eggs, and ham led to muscle loss and an image of him looking like a straw with some fat on it.

The Transformation

Gradually, Kobraolol learned about proper cutting diets, which included consuming low carbs, high fat for four days, and making the 5th day a high-carb, very low-fat leg day. He incorporated eggs, steel-cut oats, tuna, chicken breasts, tilapia, salmon, vegetables, brown rice, tortilla wraps, ground beef, avocado, and other meals for a mixed and matched diet. He did five days of workout, cardio thrice weekly (30-40 minutes at a slow pace), and preferred cardio after lifting weights. His end goal was to maintain a consistent weight of around 150 lbs wherein he adjusted carbs or did a cheat meal every three weeks to avoid weight loss plateaus.

The Takeaway

Kobraolol, a Redditor, has shown that it is possible to shed weight even after permabulking for years, but it is important to have perseverance, discipline, and the right diet. He has learned that for cutting diets, one must avoid too low carb and too low-fat foods that can lead to muscle loss. It is important to keep the diet clean, learn every week, try new things, hit the gym or work out at home, and incorporate some cardio into the routine. Individuals are encouraged to try things for themselves and consult with experts before starting on a fitness journey.
