Introduction

Reddit user u_s_e_r_n_a_m_e_ shared his impressive weight loss journey of losing 49lbs in 5 months and achieving his goal of 16% body fat. He documented his progress with photos and explained his exercise and diet routines.

Exercise Routine

u_s_e_r_n_a_m_e_ started doing a popular 4 day split on bodybuilding.com and some cardio, but was not satisfied with the results. He then switched to a variation of strong lifts 5x5 with some accessory lifts in December and added 30 minutes of mid-intensity cardio with stretching and core work on off days. This routine proved to be more successful, and he was finally able to share his progress.

Diet

In addition to regular exercise, u_s_e_r_n_a_m_e_ also cut out all junk food and started making and bringing his own food from home instead of eating out. He drinks only water, coffee, and tea every day, with an occasional slip up allowed. He follows a vegan and gluten-free diet and supplements his protein with shakes.

Body Fat Calculation

When asked about how he calculates his body fat, u_s_e_r_n_a_m_e_ explained that he has both a body fat calculating scale and calipers. He takes measurements of both methods every couple of weeks and uses a rough average. Currently, the scale is showing 21.2%, while the calipers put him between 20.0% and 21.2%.

Conclusion

u_s_e_r_n_a_m_e_ serves as a great inspiration for those who are also on a weight loss journey. By incorporating exercise and a clean diet, he was able to achieve his desired body fat percentage in a short amount of time. It is important to note that everyone's body is different and what works for one person may not work for another. It is recommended to try things out for yourself and find what works best for you.
