Reddit user nystera underwent a 10-month weight loss journey from 200 to 180 pounds. The user had let themselves go and started lifting again in September doing a flat bench of 135. The user then incorporated nutrition in February, and her weight dropped with her diet; she was losing up to 1.5 pounds a week. Drinking only water, skim milk, and rarely gatorade helped the user maintain a healthy diet.
The user stated she never counted calories, but monitored her food intake to ensure she only ate healthy things and only ate until she wasn't hungry. The user had five meals a day that consisted of eggs, cheerios, oatmeal, fruit, peanut butter on wheat, leftover chicken, vegetables and rice, chicken salads, raw almonds, and whey protein shakes. The user highly recommends meal preparation and finding a schedule that works for the individual.
Incorporating exercise daily also helped the user achieve their weight loss goal. The user worked out five to six days a week with diverse exercises such as flat bench, running, soccer, and the p90x ab routine. The user recommends beginning slowly and allowing time for the body to adjust.
The user's determination and consistency throughout the 10-month journey helped achieve a weight loss goal of 20 pounds, and resulted in a toned physique. The user recommends taking before and after photos to track progress and motivate oneself.
Following nystera's journey can inspire individuals to take the initiative to lose excess weight, stay determined, and remain consistent with exercise and healthy meal planning. Incorporating a healthy diet and daily exercise have shown to be successful and impactful ways for people to achieve their weight loss goals.
