Introduction
A 17-year-old reddit user, Santyga, recently shared a 2-month progress report of his weight gain journey on the site. He gained 12 pounds of weight in 2 months, which received over 100 upvotes and 13 comments. The most interesting part of Santyga's story is that he achieved this transformation only through bodyweight workouts while eating a regular diet. He did not join any gym or resort to supplements or steroids to achieve this amazing result.
Bodyweight Exercises
Santyga's workout routine consisted of various bodyweight exercises to build strength and mass. He started with sets of one-handed push-ups every other day until he could do 25 push-ups in a row with each hand. On the same days, he also did pull-ups. Once he mastered this level, he moved on to handstand push-ups against a wall and finally did two freestanding handstand push-ups. He then moved onto planche exercises that included three sets of five straddle planche push-ups every other day. He also did one-legged squats every day for his legs and ab exercises by hanging from a pull-up bar and raising his legs straight up for ten sets of ten reps.
Regular Diet
Santyga's regular diet included chicken, steak, and mac and cheese. He just increased his food intake more than before to gain weight since he had difficulty gaining weight. He did not resort to any specific diet or supplement to help him on this journey.
Conclusion
This journey by Santyga inspires many people who believe that gaining muscle requires a gym membership, expensive supplements, or steroids. However, building muscle mass and becoming strong is mainly a result of sound training and nutrition principles. While supplements and steroids may help some people, they can have severe side effects, and it's best to achieve results with the help of natural resources. Thus, people who want to gain muscle mass must focus on the principles of progressive overload, proper nutrition, and recovery. As Santyga proved, one can gain quality weight with dedication, consistency, and discipline.
Try it Yourself
If you want to gain muscle and become stronger, try incorporating bodyweight exercises and a protein-rich diet into your routine. Focus on increasing the intensity and volume of your exercises over time, eat healthily and sleep well. You may not get identical results like Santyga, but you'll surely see a positive transformation in your life.
