Weight loss is hard for anyone, but it can be even harder when dealing with specific health conditions. One woman, who goes by the username Lurker35, struggled with weight loss due to Celiac's disease and autoimmune thyroid disease. Despite the obstacles, Lurker35 was able to make significant progress and shared her journey on Reddit.

Healthy eating habits

As someone with Celiac's disease, Lurker35 had to eat healthy regardless of wanting to lose weight. She focused on having protein and veggies with little to zero starch at each meal. She avoided sweets and ice cream but allowed herself the occasional treat of a kids-sized custard. Lurker35 also reduced her portion sizes and only ate when truly hungry.

Exercise routine

Lurker35 had an active job as a CNA, so she was on her feet moving 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. This helped her avoid having to run miles for cardio. In addition, Lurker35 did body weight exercises such as squats, pushups, and crunches every morning and 10-minute yoga before bed. These exercises helped her build strength and made her feel better overall.

Tracking progress

Lurker35 weighed herself every day and kept a log of her weight. By doing so, she was able to assess what she ate the day before and whether it helped or hindered her progress. This helped her stay motivated and avoid getting discouraged.
