Introduction

The desire for physical change is common, but making those changes is a feat in itself. Subscribers on Reddit's BTFC( Body Transformation Fitness Challenge) subreddit participate in an annual fitness challenge that spans roughly 12 weeks. Reddit user 'matt_humphrey' took on the challenge of bulking and gained 180 to 192 pounds in the process. Here's what he learned along the way.

A Balanced Diet

For 12 weeks, reditor 'matt_humphrey' adopted a flexible dieting plan. He ate both healthy 'bro foods' and 'junk food,' keeping track of calories and macronutrients. His daily meals included oats, extra lean beef mince/chicken, frozen mixed vegetables, flavoured cous cous, low-fat ice cream, lunch rolls, toast, sandwiches, eggs, Quest Bars, etc. He had a calorie goal of 2800kcal, 175P, 350C, 78F, 38+fibre.

Routine Exercise

Reddit user 'matt_humphrey' adopted a Push/Pull/Legs/Push/Pull/Legs exercise routine. He did a main lift every session to increase his strength in Flat DB Press/Bench Row/Front Squat/Standing BB OHP/Deadlift/Romanian Deadlift. In addition to those, he did hypertrophy work. This helped him gain strength overall and make progress as desired.

Personal Reflection

'matt_humphrey' completed his 12-week journey with 192 pounds, proving that his nutritional and physical routine worked for him. Naturally, personal ideal doesn't always line up with the results, but he gained experience and had a clearer picture of the precise changes he desired. Following a structured plan showed him that progress is possible and opened his eyes to the realm of fitness possibilities.

Following 'matt_humphrey's' example, making a personalized diet and exercise plan tailored to your goals can help you achieve the ideal results you seek within a given time frame.
