Reddit user 'books_n_books' sets out on a weight loss journey beginning in December 2011. She documents her progress over the following three months in a Reddit post, detailing the ups and downs that come along with trying to lose weight.

December 2011

At the start of her journey, 'books_n_books' weighed 147 lbs. She felt unhappy with her appearance and decided it was time to make a change. She began by tracking her calorie intake using MyFitnessPal and cut out all sugary drinks. Over the course of the month, she lost four pounds.

January 2012

In January, 'books_n_books' began incorporating exercise into her routine. She started with 20-30 minutes of cardio each day and gradually increased the intensity over time. She also continued to track her calorie intake and made a conscious effort to eat more protein and fewer carbs. By the end of the month, she had lost an additional seven pounds.

February 2012

Despite hitting a plateau midway through the month, 'books_n_books' kept going. She increased her strength training and began experimenting with intermittent fasting. By the end of February, she had lost four more pounds, bringing her total weight loss to 15 pounds.

March 2012

In the final month of her journey, 'books_n_books' continued with her exercise routine and intermittent fasting. She also incorporated more whole foods and vegetables into her diet. By the end of March, she had lost an additional two pounds, bringing her total weight loss to 17 pounds. She notes that while the journey was difficult, it was worth it in the end.
