Background

CoCo26, a 19-year-old male, has shared his weight loss journey on Reddit, which has gained 137 upvotes in the FP sub. Over the course of six months, he has managed to lose 100lbs on a Ketogenic diet primarily consisting of meat, cheese, and minimal veggies.

Diet

Although CoCo26 did not count his daily calories, he was eating around 20g of carbs or less per day, no sugar (besides small amounts in dressing or other added condiments), and ate whenever he felt like it without exceeding 7 pm. He has confessed to cheating on his diet every few weeks with pizza. While he does not like veggies, he consumed some, posting a list of items that he consumed, which included cheese, cottage cheese, pickles, black olives, lunch meat, hot dogs, chicken, steak, bacon, eggs, cheesewursts, bratwursts, and smokies.

Exercise

When CoCo26 began his diet, he started lifting for an hour every day, and biking instead of driving, as a means of active transportation. After moving to college, he faced challenges, and his routine changed, resulting in a loss of muscle mass. Although he did not go to the gym much, he continued to maintain his weight and has plans to cut and bulk from here on. His body transformation supports speculation on his prior rigorous exercise routine.

Stalling and Consistency

CoCo26 hit a plateau after shedding 60lbs and eventually gained back 5lbs after quitting keto for a month. However, he found that returning to his previous routine brought him back on track. During his diet, he snacked every two hours, ate two regular meals a day, and some weeks he did not lose any more weight, but he kept up with his routine and waited for his weight to fluctuate less on his long-term journey.

Conclusion

CoCo26's journey is a testament to the fact that weight loss is a gradual process, with no shortcuts or guarantees. While his diet may not suit everyone, it's intriguing to see how his unique regimen has worked for him. From experiencing stalls to cheating on his diet, for him, consistency was the key. CoCo26's success story is proof that when it comes to weight loss, our bodies are unique, and every method works differently. Try things out for yourself and see what works for you!
