M/31/6’1.5“ (186cm) [278 lbs (126,2kg) > 256 lbs (116,5kg) = 22 lbs(9,7kg)] First month progress. I still have a long way to go. I can see the change by comparing the 2 photos a month apart. I don't notice it much on my body in everyday life - some clothes do. On health and movement, I certainly do.

Introduction
Losing weight can be challenging, both physically and mentally. However, the first month of progress by the Reddit user not_loqan shows that significant improvements can be made with the right strategy.
Success Story
The user reported a weight reduction from 278 lbs (126,2kg) to 256 lbs (116,5kg), that is 22 lb (9.7kg) in the first month of embarking on their weight loss journey. The progress is evident after comparing photos taken a month apart. The comments left by other users and their encouragement further validate the user's progress.
How The User Did It
The user credited their success to two main things: going cold turkey on sugary foods and walking 1 hour a day with weights. They began by cutting out sweet foods altogether and ensured not to eat after 6 pm. After the first week, they took a daily tally of their calorie intake and adjusted the portions accordingly. Additionally, they walked an average of 2.7 km daily followed by a half-hour of walking with weights.
Lessons Learned
The user's lessons learned include the importance of comparing progress over time rather than day to day. Progress is less visible on a day-to-day basis, but taking monthly pictures can help identify significant changes. The importance of taking the time to adjust food portions and adjust their calorie intake regularly was also noted.
Conclusion
Not_Loqan's progress after one month shows that weight loss is possible if an individual is genuinely committed. Their tips and strategies are worth considering for anyone looking to start their weight loss journey. Everyone’s body is different, and the strategy that worked for this user may not work for others. However, adopting a healthy lifestyle while seeking professional medical advice can lead to significant progress towards weight loss goals.
