From Unorganized Workouts to Serious Lifting

Last August, the Reddit user 'throwawaycanadian' weighed in around 175 pounds and started lifting somewhat seriously without any real organization. In October, he started doing a modified version of 'Stronglifts 5x5.' By January, he began doing 'Smolov Jr' for his bench press to increase his numbers. By mid-February, he had DL: 365 SQ: 265 and BP: 255. However, he began regressing due to aggravating old injuries and making new ones.

A Switch to Body Building

In March, throwawaycanadian gave up on his workout routine and switched to body building to compete in physique competitions but without paying attention to his diet. By late April, his weight had gone from 175 pounds to 163 pounds and finally 185 pounds, depending on what time he weighed himself. However, by then, he had not dropped below 182 pounds for a few weeks.

Switching to Keto for Better Eating Habits

After deciding to take things more seriously, throwawaycanadian started to pay attention to his eating habits. On April 21st, he decided it was time to get serious and started researching his options. He found /r/keto and started buying all the meat and cheese and broccoli and other recommended foods. By Thursday night on the same week, he was in ketosis. Over time, he started noticing changes in his body and was feeling great.

The Journey Continues

Throwawaycanadian is currently on week five of his body building program and has been trying to stay around 2000 calories a day to maximize fat loss. However, his energy levels began to lag in the gym, so he will have to up his calorie intake soon. He has been sharing his diet to the public, and his progress can be seen on MyFitnessPal.

Take-Away Message

Throwawaycanadian's journey through Stronglifts and keto had its ups and downs - from unorganized workouts and injuries to competitive body building and a better diet. However, through his hard work and dedication, he was able to achieve his goals, and his progress is a testament to what can be accomplished through much-needed lifestyle changes.
