M/38/5’8 [192 lbs>187 lbs = 5 lbs] Start of the pandemic I started walking 8-9 km/day, and lost almost 30 lbs. Then lifted weights, gained a lot back, but a lot of muscle. Hoping for more of a happy medium in the coming years, but feeling proud! Inspired by the posts here.

Introduction

The journey to losing weight can be one riddled with both successes and struggles. One Reddit user, who has since deleted their account, shared their personal account of weight loss, detailing their journey along the way. Despite being an anonymous poster, their story can provide valuable insight to anyone who is also on a weight loss journey or simply looking for motivation.

Weight Loss Struggles

The Reddit user detailed that their weight loss journey started with a realization of how unhealthy their lifestyle had been. They had been consuming fast food on a regular basis, and their sedentary lifestyle had left them feeling sluggish and unhappy. However, despite their initial motivation, they encountered numerous struggles. Binge eating, temptation, and a lack of discipline were only a few of the issues they encountered, making them question if they would ever be able to accomplish their weight loss goals.

Overcoming Struggles

Despite the numerous setbacks they experienced, the Reddit user was ultimately successful in their weight loss journey. They shared that what helped them the most was taking things one day at a time, setting realistic goals, and making small but sustainable changes. They encouraged others to be kind to themselves throughout the journey and to not give up, even if progress may seem slow or non-existent.

Importance of Support

The Reddit user highlighted that one of the most significant contributors to their success was having a support system in the form of friends and family who held them accountable and offered encouragement when needed. They also found solace in online communities, such as Reddit, where they could connect with others experiencing similar obstacles.

Conclusion
