Introduction
Losing weight requires dedication, discipline, and hard work. For this Reddit user, it took a total of 2 years to go from 320 to 170 pounds. In this article, we’ll take a closer look at their weight loss journey, focusing on the key factors that helped them achieve their transformation.
Counting Calories and Working Out
One of the primary reasons this Reddit user was able to lose so much weight was by tracking their daily calorie intake and increasing their physical activity. By creating a calorie deficit, their body used stored fat as energy, resulting in weight loss. They also incorporated various exercises, including weight lifting, cardio, and skateboarding to burn more calories.
Going Sugar-Free
The Reddit user also tried cutting out sugar for two half-year stints during their weight loss journey. This is because high sugar consumption is linked to obesity and other health problems. By reducing their sugar intake, they were able to limit their calorie consumption even more, leading to further weight loss.
Getting Back into Skateboarding
After tearing their ACL in 2010, the Reddit user stopped skateboarding until 2020 when they finally got back into it. This helped them burn more calories while doing an activity they enjoy. Finding an enjoyable physical activity can make a big difference in weight loss success.
Conclusion
While losing 150 pounds in 2 years is undoubtedly impressive, it’s important to remember that everyone’s weight loss journey is unique. What worked for this Reddit user may not work for everyone. However, the key takeaway is that by creating a calorie deficit, increasing physical activity, reducing sugar intake, and finding joy in physical activity, it’s possible to achieve significant weight loss results.
