F/23/5'4" [131.2>128.2 = 3lbs][SW=165, GW=125] Decided to take some pictures today because I've been discouraged with how long it's taking me to lose the last few pounds. I was surprised at the difference and I think the pictures really demonstrate the Paper Towel Roll Theory!

The Struggle is Real

Losing weight can be a frustrating journey, especially when the scale doesn't reflect your efforts. One Reddit user, fattyfatty2X4nomore, shared her struggles with losing the last few pounds despite sticking to a strict calorie intake and incorporating exercise.

The Importance of Pictures

The user decided to take pictures to measure her progress and noticed a visible difference in her back, despite only losing 3 pounds. The pictures showed how much difference a few pounds can make on a smaller frame.

The Paper Towel Roll Theory

Fattyfatty2X4nomore discussed the Paper Towel Roll Theory, which compares weight loss to a paper towel roll. Losing one sheet off a full roll won't make a noticeable difference, but losing one sheet off a nearly empty roll will make a noticeable difference. The same applies to weight loss; losing a pound will make a more visible difference when you're at a lower weight already.

Muscle Retention and Body Composition

The user also mentioned the effects of muscle retention on weight fluctuations, especially during muscle repair after weightlifting. The difference in the pictures showed how toning can change body composition without significant weight change.

Don't Get Discouraged

Don't get discouraged by tiny losses or weight fluctuations. Pictures are a great way to measure progress and keep you motivated. Keep taking pictures, measuring, and sharing your journey. Remember, every pound counts.
