Introduction

Losing the extra pounds isn't easy, but one reddit user ifinallycaved has shown us that when there's a will, there's a way. With consistent effort and healthy food choices, this young man lost 115lbs in 4 years, going from 290lbs to 175lbs. However, his journey doesn't stop there. He recognizes the importance of transforming his lifestyle into one that promotes healthy, sustainable living by gaining 18lbs of lean muscle mass.

Controlled Carbohydrate Day vs Controlled Fat Day

His diet consists of two different days: the controlled carbohydrate day and the controlled fat day. Each consists of 2345 calories. The controlled carbohydrate day consists of 90g fats, 265g proteins, and 115g carbohydrates. The controlled fat day has 35g fats, 270g proteins, and 240g carbohydrates. His meals consist of chicken, greek yogurt, cottage cheese, rice, eggs, spinach, and various fruits. His current diet is strict because he's going on a month-long trip soon, and he wants to lean out as much as possible.

Slow Progression to Healthier Food Choices

The journey to a healthy lifestyle doesn't happen overnight. Ifinallycaved recognizes this and shares his food progression with us. From hating vegetables in high school, he has developed a love for all types of vegetables through slowly finding new foods that he enjoys. He still allows himself to eat whatever he wants when he's not on a plan, which keeps him happy. Instead of having meat sauce on his spaghetti, he now adds chopped zucchini, mushrooms, peppers, and carrots to increase the vegetable intake. By doing this, he gets more portions of the sauce, with less meat and more vegetables. He believes that the key to success when it comes to losing weight and maintaining a healthy lifestyle is through small, consistent changes and being mindful of how your body feels.

Lift Numbers

Ifinallycaved's muscle gain comes from consistent effort in lifting weights. His personal bests include deadlifts at 405lbs, flat bench at 240lbs, and decline bench at 315lbs, all for a minimum of 3 reps. Squats were not a part of his routine for a very long time due to his weak knees, but he recognizes the importance of doing them and has worked up to 225lbs for 10 reps. He also understands the importance of not just having muscle, but staying athletic, and has never been motivated to push the limits of his weights.

Conclusion

Though it may be hard, losing extra weight and staying fit can be done with consistency and determination. From a controlled diet to lifting weights, Ifinallycaved has shown us that slow, steady progress is the key to success. His journey towards a healthier lifestyle is not easy, but it is achievable for anyone who is willing to put in the work. Try out making small, consistent changes in your food choices and see how it can positively impact your body and well-being.
