Introduction

One Reddit user, crackills, recently shared his weight loss journey spanning nine months. He started at 186 pounds and is now at 189 pounds, having lost a considerable amount of weight. Crackills describes how he spent all of his 20s overweight, and the last photo is of him at 30, last summer at 286 pounds. He credits his success in losing 97 pounds to a keto diet and the greater Reddit community.

95% diet

While there wasn't much exercise involved in his routine, Crackills states that 95% of the success was due to diet. He cut the carbs, added the fat, and started monitoring his intake. By avoiding carbs and adding fat, he claims he got healthy. In six months, he was off blood pressure and cholesterol meds and felt great.

HDL and Triglycerides Levels

Crackills documented his food progress on MyFitnessPal, and his cholesterol levels were also checked. His triglycerides were 74, and his HDL was 61. He even shares with fellow Reddit users a good video talking about low carb and blood lipids.

Keto Diet and Carbs Cravings

Crackills admits to missing French fries but reveals that after two weeks on a keto diet, the cravings would disappear. In his previous attempts at keto, the first few weeks were a struggle, but he didn't make the mistake of counting calories until he felt in control of his appetite. Additionally, he says keto is an extremely healthy way to eat, contrary to what he believed before starting.

Conclusion

Crackills' journey is an excellent example of how diet plays a significant role in losing weight. A keto diet and careful monitoring of food intake works wonders in shedding pounds. While keto is not for everybody, Crackills urges people not to give up on it if they do not succeed at first. Instead, he encourages them to persevere and find what works best for their body.
