Introduction

Clessing, a F/27/5'3" Reddit user, shares her weight loss journey from 186 to 146 lbs, losing 40 lbs in total since the Spring of 2020. She recently lost 16 lbs since the start of the year. Clessing also talks about how she perceives herself differently, and how a few motivational comments can make a difference.

Factors for the Weight Gain

Clessing did not grow up with a weight problem. However, after quitting her job in the pre-pandemic period, her brief period of unemployment turned into almost a year. Gradual Changes and Sustainability

Clessing began a construction job and lost 10 to 15 lbs initially without altering her diet. When she was medicated for ADHD, she stopped feeling an urge to eat sugar and carbs for dopamine cravings. Clessing's current routine consists of 3-4 Peloton cycling workouts, some yoga/barre workouts weekly, home-cooked meals, portion control, walking from work, and a slow and steady approach to changes. The approach has been the most sustainable

Waistline Progress

Waist has reduced from 32 inches to 27 inches. Clessing is an hourglass-shaped person whose upper limit of a normal BMI and ideal waist to hip and waist to height ratios both meet. Her outlook remains to continue with her routine to gain more muscle and to lose additional weight.

Clessing's weight loss journey teaches us the importance of gradual and steady progress while following sustainable routines. She has taken the necessary steps to meet her health goals, and her hard work shows. It's a reminder to push through the hard days, accept kind words when offered, and find joy in the progress made along the way.
