The Turning Point

After years of being overweight and becoming obese in December last year, keepitterron realized that he needed to change his lifestyle. He started by exercising more and eating healthier, which brought him back to his 'natural weight' of around 190lbs.

Making Healthy Choices

With the help of r/fatlogic, a fitbit, and MyFitnessPal, keepitterron realized that he was eating too much. Starting in July, he ate at a 1000kcal deficit while keeping his exercise level steady. Free from his excess weight, he became faster, better than ever at playing soccer, and even ran a half marathon obstacle run.

Setting New Goals

keepitterron plans to run a couple of half marathons and a full marathon by the end of the year while adding muscle weight. He realized that his body could do amazing things and he wants to see what else it is capable of.

Tips for Achieving Fitness Goals

Get a kitchen scale and track calorie intake as accurately as possible. Eating at a calorie deficit is essential to lose weight. Keep exercising and setting goals, while adjusting to how your body is changing. Stick to the daily calorie limit and still enjoy your favorite foods once in a while, but be sure that your CI (calories in) is less than your CO (calories out).

The Bottom Line

Keepitterron's journey proves that health and fitness can be achieved through tracking calorie intake, exercising, and setting goals. Although everyone's body is different, the key takeaway is to find what works for you and stick to it. Ultimately, keepitterron accomplished his fitness goal of losing 50lbs in 6 months and became fit instead of fat.
