A Reddit user, jayjaydaninja, shared her 18 months weight loss journey, which included her focus to uplift her mental health rather than only shedding the extra pounds. Her transformation post shows a significant difference in her looks as she shed 25 lbs of her weight reducing from 182 lbs to 157 lbs. Jayjaydaninja did an incredible job of connecting science with self-love, which is the most important aspect of someone's weight loss journey.

Jayjaydaninja was not concerned about only cutting back on calories, but rather she made significant lifestyle changes. She cut out processed foods and focused on eating a healthy breakfast of avocado and eggs that kept her satiated for longer. She started meditating and began exercising, which in turn helped to improve her mental health.

In the initial phase of her recovery, jayjaydaninja quit drinking, mainly to cut down on unnecessary calories, which eventually helped her reevaluate her relationship with food and socializing. She acknowledges that this was an important step that helped her operate her old dopamine valve more productively. Over time, she became more mindful of what she eats and how it affects her mood, but she is not too restrictive in the sense that even eating the 'wrong' food wouldn't throw her out of shape.

Jayjaydaninja incorporated exercise and diet into her recovery, which brought a positive impact on her lifestyle. She went from being not motivated to see any results to becoming highly motivated and excited to start weight lifting as a next step in her fitness & diet goals. It's an exquisite journey of science and self-love that has changed her mindset and led to a healthier lifestyle.

To those who are on their weight loss journey, Jayjaydaninja highly recommends focusing on both mental health and physical wellness, what would make your weight loss journey more fulfilling. In addition, a healthy lifestyle is not just a temporary fix, but a continuous process that would have long-lasting effects. Everyone's journey is different, and it is important to find out what works best for you, keeping in mind that the road to a healthy lifestyle includes mind, body, and soul.
