Motivation Through Creating Fitness Pinterest Board

Brittanyummg started losing weight because she hated a photo of herself at a school event and wanted to take preventative measures against diabetes and heart disease. She started by creating a Pinterest solely for fitness motivation and followed all kinds of board with healthy food and motivational pictures. The small goals that she set for herself included wanting to run 3 miles in 30 minutes without stopping, so each week she would run a little more.

Addiction to Endorphin High and Healthy Eating

Thoroughly enjoying working out may be attributed to releasing endorphins which can help clear the mind and assist with putting things in perspective. As a college student she found it hard to eat clean all the time because of the price, instead she switched over to as many general foods which were generally pretty healthy. In her apartment, she always had bananas, apple slices, whole grain bread, brown rice, beans, sweet potatoes, veggies, wraps, almond milk, almond butter, honey, frozen veggies, chicken breast, and yogurt. Cheating was incorporated to become a part of her lifestyle as long as it wasn't forming a habit.

Improvements Into Lifestyle Rather Than Temporary Change

Brittanyummg made sure to allow herself some leeway when she wasn't feeling like eating healthy or going to the gym. She made changes little by little so that it wouldn't overwhelm her and it would become a part of her lifestyle rather than a temporary change. Sometimes she would cheat and indulge; however, as long as it did not become excessive, it was still seen as fine. She stopped counting calories and focused more on the quality of the food that she ate.
