Reddit user syrensong recently shared their weight loss journey on the platform. After completing basic combat training in 2013, syrensong found that their weight had gone up to 170 lbs by July of that year. However, after just 11 weeks of Army training, they managed to drop a significant amount of weight - 30 lbs to be exact - and now weigh in at 140 lbs.

How did they do it?

Syrensong has credited their weight loss to a combination of factors. The rigorous physical training and the stress of the boot camp environment certainly played a role, but so did sheer determination. Contrary to popular belief, they also ate a lot during training, thanks in part to the highly-nutritious (though not always delicious) military dining facilities.

What can we learn from this?

While not everyone has the opportunity to join the Army and lose weight through basic training, there are some key takeaways from syrensong's journey. One is that a combination of exercise and a healthy diet can lead to significant weight loss. Another is that in some cases, participating in a highly-structured program can be beneficial for weight loss, as it provides a clear structure and accountability.

The importance of determination

Syrensong's journey also highlights the importance of a determined mindset. Losing weight is hard work, and sometimes it can be easy to give up when progress is slow or obstacles arise. But by pushing through and staying focused on their goal, syrensong was able to achieve their desired outcome.

Conclusion

Syrensong has come a long way since their starting weight of 170 lbs, and their journey offers many valuable lessons for anyone looking to lose weight. By combining exercise, healthy eating, and determination, it is possible to achieve significant results in a short amount of time. Give it a try for yourself, and see where your weight loss journey takes you!
