Lockdown Year: Injuries and Weight Gain

Many people around the world gained weight during the lockdown period and this Reddit user is no exception. He fractured his foot and lost a lot of muscle, which resulted in a significant weight gain. Losing weight is challenging enough as is, but health issues make it much harder.

Mental Health and Fitness: A Complex Relationship

Battling mental health issues while trying to lose weight is like fighting a battle on two fronts. Some days are good, others not so much, which can affect one's motivation to work out. However, the endorphins and sense of accomplishment from working out can also improve mental health. It's important to remember that fitness is not a cure-all but can be part of many people's overall health journey.

Small Steps Lead to Big Changes

The Reddit user decided to take control of their situation and take small steps towards their goal. They started by counting calories using a free app, which helped them understand their food intake. As they saw progress, they began incorporating exercise into their routine. This approach seemed to work for this user and is a great way for anyone to start a weight loss journey.

A Proud Moment: Sharing Success on Reddit

After months of hard work, the Reddit user was proud of their progress and decided to share it on Reddit. While it can be scary to share something as personal as weight loss progress photos, it can also be motivating and inspiring for others who may be struggling. Social support is crucial when it comes to achieving goals.

Take Action and Keep Going

If you're struggling with injuries, mental health issues, or other challenges, remember that small steps still move you forward. Whether it's counting calories or finding a physical activity you enjoy, take action towards your goal. Celebrate every small win and don't be too hard on yourself when things don't go as planned. Most of all, keep going because the journey is worth it.
