Introduction

Losing weight may look like a daunting task, but it is not as complicated as it seems. Many people, despite knowing different ways to lose weight, fail because they lack motivation and consistency. One person who did not let his lack of motivation get the better of him was sigfemseks- a Reddit user, who lost 80 pounds without exercising in just four months.

Diet Plan

Sigfemseks claims to have consumed nearly 1000 calories per day, and his weight loss was around 3-5 pounds per week. He mentions that losing more than two pounds per week is unhealthy and that he has slowed down substantially since he hit 250 pounds. Quitting junk food and other unhealthy food items cold turkey and avoiding cheat days helped him achieve his weight loss goals.

Secret to weight loss

Sigfemseks changed no habits and relied on his daily routine for physical activity. He walks for around 10 minutes from his parking lot to his workplace, sits at a desk all day, and perhaps plays ping pong for around 45 minutes to an hour daily. His casual hike (once a month), walking for an hour during shopping or standing around for concerts constituted his physical activity.

Ask the expert

Sigfemseks suggests that losing weight is 80% diet and 20% exercise. Even if we exercise regularly, it will not be enough to make up for unhealthy eating habits. His diet strategy involved tracking calories, where he used the WeightWatchers app to monitor and guilt himself into not eating too much junk. If he ate something too small to track, he would add in 100 calories. Finally, he says the key to weight loss is perseverance and consistency in following a healthy diet plan.

Conclusion

Sigfemseks may have lost his weight in just four months, but it was mainly because of his consistency and motivation. He focused on his diet, which was a combination of healthy food choices and avoiding junk food. While he lacked formal exercise, he kept his body active by taking a walk or playing a little bit of ping pong. The secret to his success was his consistency in following the diet plan, which is something everyone can incorporate.
