7 Year Weight Journey: 160Lbs to 113Lbs with Powerlifting

Once weighing at 160lbs, Reddit user biggestlittlepickle documented her weight loss journey by going from a sedentary lifestyle to powerlifting in six years. Through dedication to powerlifting, she managed to gain a lot of muscle mass, and she went from 22% body fat to 14%. Her training mainly consisted of bench, squat, deadlift, OHP, and chin-ups as her main lifts, with one or two accessory lifts in each training session.

As mentioned, powerlifting played a significant role in helping her shed the pounds. She has switched from using the elliptical, yoga, and dumbbells to solely lifting weights to get her to her current state. She has even used powerlifting to prepare for her NQ figure contests.

As for her diet, she has followed the leangains intermittent fasting protocol for 3-4 years. She finds it convenient and likes to have big meals. With her high school teaching job, she struggles with having the appropriate time to eat in one day. As a result, this diet helps her with her macros without much struggle.

She currently has notebooks full of notes on how her body adjusts to changes in macros. By following a reverse dieting approach, she found a lot of success in reverse calculating her macros. She does not limit herself to certain foods and even indulges in her two favorite snacks, which are Oreos and carrot sticks. Her diet consists mainly of lean proteins, whole grains, veggies, and some occasional ice cream.

Biggestlittlepickle's post is testament to the power of regular exercise and a balanced diet. However, it is important to note that results may vary for each individual. What may work for her may not work for another. But for those looking to start, it's inspiring to know that results can happen over time with discipline, patience, and dedication.
