Introduction

Many people experiment with various approaches to lose weight effectively. For one Reddit user named jeanhyuk, his progress in losing weight has been documented through his posts on the site. Recently, he created a post, "M/23/5'11" [158 -> 158] (2 min.) Just experimenting with lights," which showed how lighting and postures affected the way he looked.

The story

Jeanhyuk mentioned in his post that he'd been taking progress pictures to see how his off-season body compared to his shape during the season. As he couldn't bulk during the off-season as planned, he decided to post pictures that highlighted how much of a difference lighting can make in terms of appearances. Although he could only gain 2-3 lbs compared to his end-of-season weight, his physique looked impressive thanks to lighting and postures.

Workout routines

Jeanhyuk described his workout routines, including the lifting stats he'd consistently maintained over the years. Unfortunately, due to a degenerated disc and a shoulder ligament tear caused by an accident, he could no longer perform traditional lifting exercises, especially not doing the bench press. He now adapted to his limitations and did whatever he could, putting everything in one day. He'd do two types of chest workouts, one bicep, one tricep, one leg, and one shoulder, and even skipped some muscle groups if necessary, considering he could only work out for up to 40 minutes at a time.

Nutrition

Jeanhyuk had a lackadaisical approach to nutrition, only making sure he ate some vegetables daily. He typically ate no less than 3,300 calories per day, although he wasn't sure about the exact number as he didn't keep track of it. During the season, he ate anywhere between 3,600 to 4,000 calories per day to maintain his weight.

Conclusion

Although Jeanhyuk had to adapt to his limitations after the accident, he still managed to come up with a routine that worked for him. As there's no perfect way to lose weight or maintain a good physique, experimentation is essential to find out what works best for each individual's body. It's also crucial to remember that besides the workout routines and nutrition, lighting, postures, and angles may affect how one looks, so taking progress pictures regularly may be helpful.
