Introduction

Meet BTFCalt, a 31-year-old male who shared his weight loss journey on Reddit starting from August 22nd up to November 14th. His initial weight was 160lbs.

Starting Strength

BTFCalt started his weight loss journey by doing Starting Strength. On his first lifting day, his starting lifts included a 65lb Squat, 75lb Bench, and 0 Chin-ups. His pride took a hit on the Squat, but he managed to do it with correct form. To work on his Chin-ups, he did 3x5 negatives instead. He updated his post by saying that he had never been so sore before. But even the first step of progress (up from 65lb to 75lb on Squats) felt great.

Completion Post Reminder

11-12 weeks after starting his weight loss journey, BTFCalt received an automated message from Body Transformation Challenge headquarters. His transformation deadline was approaching, and he was reminded to submit his completion post with four photos showing himself in his underwear or bathing suit. The photos must include a front, side, and back shot of his whole body. And, he should post a picture of himself with a newspaper or printed online news homepage (nytimes.com is good) with the current date clearly visible.

The Importance of Progress Tracking

BTFCalt shared his progress on Reddit to keep himself accountable to strangers on the internet. This is an excellent way to track progress and stay motivated. He shared his starting lifts and updated his progress. He also shared his initial weight and his target weight. Sharing progress can also spark inspiration in others and encourage them to try it out for themselves.

Conclusion

BTFCalt's journey shows that starting your weight loss journey may be challenging, and you may feel soreness beyond your wildest dreams. It may knock your pride down on certain exercises like Squats, but tracking your progress makes it worth every effort. Sharing your weight loss journey on any platform can keep you accountable and inspire others to start. Give it a try today and make sure to track your progress!
