A personal change

After years of losing and gaining weight for the wrong reasons, Johnny12times decided to make a change for himself. He started biking 3 days a week, and then upped his exercise game to 3 cardio days and 3 strength days for 6 days a week.

Learning through setback

Amid his weight loss journey, Johnny12times contracted shingles which left him with about 10% of range of motion in his right arm. However, he didn't give up on his weight loss journey and persisted through his setback.

Tracking through MyFitnessPal

One of the major differences this time around was the introduction of calorie tracking through MyFitnessPal. Johnny12times noticed the difference in the weight loss rate and started measuring everything he ate.

Treating Calories as Currency

This mindset shift helped Johnny12times not only manage his calorie intake but also eat out while still remaining within his calorie budget. He started seeing calories as a form of currency, and with that shift, he lost 12lbs in the last 50 days while still indulging in holiday dinners.

The Path Forward

Johnny12times' weight loss journey isn't over, and he's still learning about nutrition and making the right food choices. But the key takeaway is that tracking calories and treating them as currency can help kickstart a healthier lifestyle. As he says, "If I can suggest only one thing, it's track calories!"
