The Beginning of a Journey

For many people faced with the challenge of shedding weight, starting the journey can be the hardest part. Redditorofwallstreet, or RWS for short, was no exception. At 19 years old and standing at 5'9, RWS weighed in at 160lbs and felt unhappy with where he was at. He had a goal to lose 15lbs and after some research and preparation, he finally took the leap towards a leaner and healthier self.

The Routine

The biggest part of RWS's journey was developing an exercise and diet routine that was both sustainable and effective. RWS, like many beginners, started with moderate cardio exercise such as running and cycling. However, he realized that to lose weight, he needed to engage in weight-lifting, so he focused on compound movements like squats and deadlifts. In terms of diet, he tracked his caloric intake and sought to maintain a modest caloric deficit while increasing his protein intake. RWS discovered that by cooking his meals at home and avoiding junk food, he could satisfy cravings while still consistently losing weight.

The Journey and Discoveries

Over the course of 6 months, RWS gradually lost 15lbs and became happy with his progress. He discovered a few things along the way. For one, he found that incorporating weightlifting into his routine was the most effective way to lose weight while gaining muscle mass. He also discovered the importance of setting small, incremental goals and reaching them to stay motivated. Finally, he learned that losing weight was not just about the numbers on the scale, but it was also about how he felt - he felt stronger, more confident, and more energized.

The Takeaway

Weight loss is a journey that requires hard work, dedication, and patience. RWS's journey was successful because he found a routine that worked for him, incorporated weight-lifting into his routine, and set small goals to reach along the way. His journey shows that anyone can lose weight and feel better with a little bit of effort and a lot of self-care. Try out different routines, engage in strength-training, and set small, incremental goals for yourself. Who knows where your journey might take you?

The Future

After reaching his goal of losing 15lbs, RWS is excited about the future. He plans on continuing to lift weights and possibly even compete in a local powerlifting competition. Although he has accomplished his weight-loss goal, his journey doesn't stop here. He's excited about what else he'll discover about himself and his body as he continues to prioritize his health and fitness.
