Introduction

LadySportsFan, a 30-year-old woman, shares her weight loss story on Reddit after losing 145lbs, going from 330lbs to 185lbs over 3 years.

From Traditional Gym to MMA Gym

After losing 80lbs through traditional gym workouts, LadySportsFan became bored and started making excuses to skip the gym. She then found an MMA gym and started taking the women's kickboxing class to supplement her cardio.

The Benefits of Having Fun While Exercising

LadySportsFan made friends with another woman in her class and, after 3-4 months, they both decided to try out the serious classes. Going to the gym became like a mini vacation, and it was no longer difficult to go and get her ass kicked every day. Having fun while exercising made a huge difference.

The Importance of Commitment and Acceptance

LadySportsFan committed to learning and growing, and her coaches took her under their wing. She now teaches the same women's kickboxing class that she started in, and she has grappled in two tournaments, taking gold in both and training for an international kickboxing tournament next year. She accepted that she would suck at first but people are willing to help those who want to help themselves.

Conclusion

LadySportsFan's journey teaches us that changing habits and joining a gym are not enough without finding something enjoyable and having a commitment to learning and growing. We should all try to find what works for us to achieve our goals and make exercising fun and enjoyable.
