Introduction

Cycling 100+ miles a week and doing some basic lifting has helped a Reddit user bikess lose 30lbs in just five months, prompting others to seek advice for their weight loss journey.

Dietary Changes

Cutting down on fatty meats and completely cutting out processed sugary foods, bikess turned to fruits, grains, milk, and yogurt to cater to her protein needs.

Physical Activity

Bikess cycled all around her hometown to achieve her weight loss goal. Her suggestion was to aim to keep cycling speeds at 17mph or above and get as much elevation as possible. On occasions that it was impossible to keep up the outside cycling, she uses the stationary bike at the gym. Bikess also records most of her rides using Strava.

Future Plans

Procedures regarding specific weight loss goals are different for everyone, but Bikess is excited to get an actual road bike in the future and join races and fun rides.

Conclusion

Losing weight does not always mean cutting too many calories. Eating healthy and maintaining regular physical activity has helped Bikess lose weight while enjoying her favorite exercise. Her journey proves that following what one loves while keeping an important long-term goal in mind can lead to achieving goals that seemed impossible at first.
