Losing weight is never easy but it’s achievable! M/24/5'9 went from 214lbs to 180lbs in three years, losing 34lbs, resulting in an impressive transformation. He shared his success on Reddit inspiring a lot of people.

The Journey

M/24/5'9 began his weight loss journey in July 2012, with a goal of losing weight, achieving that transformational body he’s always wanted. To achieve his goal, he focused on diet, cardio, and workouts. The weight loss buddy used home workout programs such as P90X and BodyBeast (all by Beachbody). In 2015, he joined a gym and started working out with a guy who was preparing for a bodybuilding competition. He followed the same workout and diet routine as his gym buddy.

The Diet

M/24/5'9 started counting calories and macros like proteins, carbs, and healthy fats. He eats 100-150 grams of rice per day during his bulking season, and he eats between 50 to 0 grams in his cutting season. As he progressed and learned more, he realized carbs were not his enemy as long as he monitors his intake.

The Workout Routine

He worked out four days a week: Chest and Biceps, Back and Triceps, Quads and Calves, Shoulders and Hamstrings with abs exercise before each workout session. His routine varied throughout the year. He began with Beachbody workout routines such as Insanity, P90X, and P90X2. When he joined the gym, he diversified his routine based on his gym buddy's plan.
