Reddit user melomesh shared her weight loss journey where she started at 165lbs and went down to 119lbs in just six months.

DDP Yoga

Melomesh started her journey with DDP Yoga, which is a form of yoga created by Diamond Dallas Page, a former wrestler. It's a variety of programs that are useful in working on the entire body. Melomesh followed different programs five times a week for around 19 weeks. These programs are anywhere between 12 minutes to an hour, and it's assured that you use your muscles to create resistance, so no weights are necessary.

Running

After doing DDP Yoga for some time, melomesh started running twice a day, for five days a week. Her runs are slightly less than three miles each. Walking also became a regular part of her routine as she could walk anywhere between 9-15 miles a day. Although melomesh had a slight issue with her knee, she found that running helped reduce the pain and had only felt pain once in the previous six days before sharing her post.

Diet

Melomesh's weight loss program also included restricting liquor, sweets, and snacks, reducing coffee and increasing water intake, and avoiding beef and pork. She incorporated fresh fruits and vegetables (no canned food) into her diet, along with one meal per day. She supplemented her diet with protein shakes and many vitamins.

Conclusion

Melomesh's weight loss journey with DDP Yoga and running, along with dietary changes, helped her lose 46lbs in six months. While everyone's journey is different, taking inspiration from her story may help someone else start or continue their weight loss journey. A routine consisting of a healthy diet and a combination of DDP yoga and running might be a great way to put one's excess weight behind them, build self-esteem, and lead a healthier life.
