Introduction

Throughout life, weight gain and weight loss is commonplace. There are millions of people looking to lose weight in order to lead healthier and happier lives. This Reddit user shares their journey of losing 23 pounds over two years.

The Progression

Throwaway134235 weighed 159 pounds at the beginning of her journey. Initially, the 20 pounds of the weight shed off due to moving away from dorms, walking more, cooking meals at home, intermittent gym routines and calorie counting. However, getting rid of the last 10 pounds was the hardest. She tried several options and finally decided to start weight training with the hope of a positive outcome.

Overcoming Plateau

Plateau or the struggle to lose weight despite all efforts is common among many people. Throwaway134235 was stuck on 'stop' before she finally decided on weight training to overcome the plateau. She kept at it and thus emerged victorious in the end.

Encouragement

Throwaway134235’s journey should serve as encouragement to anyone struggling with weight loss. With a combination of consistency, calorie counting, weight training, and the right attitude, battling the bulge is achievable.

Conclusion

Weight loss journeys can be long and hard but with the right approach and combination of suitable food, exercise and mental fortitude, success is possible. What works for one person may not necessarily work for another hence trying different options until the right one works is important. Always remember that weight loss shouldn't just be to look better but more importantly to lead a healthier and happier life.
