The start of the journey
Frodonne embarked on his weight loss journey in April of 2012 when he weighed in at a staggering 253lbs. To start, he attended a popular help group in Argentina, where he lost 25kg (55lbs). Then, he went on a six-month backpacking trip through Latin America, which helped him shed 10kg (22lbs) more.
The struggle to keep the weight off
However, when Frodonne returned to his girlfriend in Argentina, he gained all the weight back. It led to him bouncing between 98kg (216lbs) and 115kg (253lbs) without finding a sustainable solution. Frodonne started going to the gym, which he found he enjoyed, but realised he wouldn't see any changes if he didn't drop the extra weight.
The turning point
This realisation led Frodonne to MyFitnessPal in November 2014, and he started to see the results he was after. He went down to 88kg (194lbs) and was consistent with the gym three times a week, never missing a day of exercise. Frodonne says that he feels his old pictures and remembers the kind of life he had at that time – and realises he may have been living the truth.
The message to others
In an open message to anyone struggling with their weight, Frodonne concludes by saying, 'You can do it; anyone can. I was able, and when I was THAT FAT, I thought I would never, ever be able to drop all this weight.' He suggests perseverance, finding a fitness activity you enjoy, using an app like MyFitnessPal, and even lifting weights as alternatives to unhealthy habits.
Takeaway message
Frodonne's journey is now inspiring others to adopt a healthy lifestyle. His story shows that weight loss is not easy, but it is achievable – with a combination of perseverance, support, and a healthy routine. He received plenty of support and comments on his thread – proof that the right attitude and support can go a long way to achieving a healthier, happier lifestyle.
