Introduction
Georgiajane1 shared her inspiring journey from developing multiple eating disorders and finally discovering balance and happiness through intuitive eating in a Reddit post. Her struggle started with anorexia, then she began binging until she gained almost fifty pounds, which led to bulimia, and her weight went up and down every few months.
Going Through Rough Times
Georgiajane1 had a rough period going through her eating disorders, and the journey was pretty traumatic. She lost control of her life and was unable to get her binging under control. She started to hate herself after gaining fifty pounds, and soon bulimia took over. Georgiajane1 struggled with bulimia for almost two years.
Taking Control
Finally, Georgiajane1 decided to take control of her life, so she started Weight Watchers online for a few months and later discovered intuitive eating. At the beginning of her journey, she lost around ten pounds from the Weight Watchers program, which greatly boosted her confidence. However, she would not recommend the program to anyone suffering from anorexia because the approach required counting points that closely resembled her former obsession with calorie counting.
Intuitive Eating that Changed Her Life
Intuitive eating without a weight loss plan, listening to her body, and eating what makes her feel good helped Georgiajane1 overcome her eating disorders finally. Additionally, Georgiajane1 worked out almost five days a week, and it made her feel better and more in tune with her body. She can now enjoy eating whatever she wants again, even desserts, which she used to avoid. Despite the switch to intuitive eating being scary at first, she hasn't gained weight, and her relationship with food has improved immensely.
Takeaway
Georgiajane1’s journey is a shining example of how balance and patience can bring significant changes in one’s life. Her journey may provide inspiration to others who may be suffering from similar issues to try things out for themselves to achieve a healthy, balanced life.
