Introduction

A Reddit user by the name of somethinreallycatchy took to the social platform to share their remarkable progress in shedding 22 pounds and toning up. In response to several comments, somethinreallycatchy revealed that this transformation took about eight months. The Reddit user worked out 3-4 times a week, and focused on both cardio and weight lifting exercises.

Cardio and Weight Lifting

Somethinreallycatchy’s approach to working out was to not be afraid of building muscles as the combination of cardio and weight lifting really helped the individual tone up. Early morning cardio-workouts were also found to be highly effective and provided energy throughout the day. Additionally, the individual attended strength classes, which activated new muscles and helped them discover muscles they didn't know they had. Lifting weights and doing cardio are both essential tactics when seeking to lose weight and improve body composition.

Food and Hydration

When it came to food, Somethinreallycatchy revealed that they ate whatever they could make at home and tried to stay away from fast food. Just cutting down portion sizes went a long way. For breakfast, the individual often ate something that would keep them full, such as yogurt and muesli, eggs, or oatmeal. It is essential to avoid white bread and steer clear of items with a lot of sugar, like store-bought juice. Somethinreallycatchy noted fish was a part of their meal plan due to their Swedish heritage and, on other occasions, ate lean meat combined with steamed or wok’d vegetables. Hydration is also key when losing weight - it is vital to drink enough water to keep the metabolism running smoothly.

Moderation and Knowing Your Limits

Somethinreallycatchy mentioned that they still indulged in foods like chocolate occasionally but ate them in moderation. The journey to losing weight and improving body composition is always about balance and one size does not fit all. However, moderation and portion control play a critical role in helping to curb cravings and reduce calorie intake. It is important to listen to the body, know its limitations, and gauge how much food is necessary. Everyone will react differently to different types of food and exercise routines.
