M/28/5'7" [315lbs > 232lbs = 83lbs] (13 months) After being in a plateau for 3 weeks I finally passed 235lbs and have reached a new low. Still have a way to go, but I'm starting to like what I see.

Introduction

Read about one man’s struggle with obesity and his journey to shed 83 lbs through consistent exercise and healthy eating.

Consistency is key

SteelBokken attributes his successful weight loss to consistent exercise and tracking his macros. He mentions that he makes sure to eat about 150g of protein, 250g of carbs, and 45-55g of fat daily. He jump ropes five days a week for 45 minutes on non-lifting days and 15 minutes on two of the three days that he lifts. He does a full body lifting routine three days a week. Gradually building up his endurance jump roping, SteelBokken says he started with only eight jumps before taking a 30-second break and built up to his current routine.

Breaking a plateau

SteelBokken found himself stuck at 235lbs for three weeks. He needed to burn more calories, but he was reluctant to cut calories. So, he began going for brisk walks for an hour each morning, and that helped him break through the plateau.

Motivation

SteelBokken’s motivation came from a variety of different sources. He was unhappy with his fitness level, and he had difficulties with rejections. SteelBokken found inspiration in Bruce Lee’s books and his commitment to physical fitness. When SteelBokken reached his lowest point, he could not even get a number on the scale. SteelBokken stayed motivated by setting goals and tracking his progress.

Conclusion

SteelBokken’s success story is yet another example of how consistent exercise and manageable lifestyle changes can lead to significant weight loss. Rather than adopting expensive weight loss programs, he made simple changes such as tracking macronutrients and gradually building up his endurance. Hopefully, this journey will motivate others to try things out for themselves.
