Introduction

At the young age of 15, reddit user mrfishguy4 embarked on an inspiring weight loss journey that has continued for a year and five months now. This young teenager lost an incredible 66lb using a combination of dietary restrictions, cardio exercises and a positive attitude.

The Diet

When he started off, he measured only calories and sodium intake, limiting consumption to 1500 calories a day while eating whatever he wanted. He later transitioned towards lean meats, reducing carb intake gradually. During his diet period, he also had cheat meals once every week, such as pancakes, fried chicken and french fries, which he presumed helped him maintain his sanity.

The Exercise Routine

During his weight loss journey, mrfishguy4 started running every other day and cycling on the stationary bike for 20-30 minutes on interval training during the 170-150lb range. He also intermittently tried other cardio exercises, such as the elliptical machine. While exercise was a part of his journey, dietary restrictions played a bigger role.

Motivation

Mrfishguy4’s motivation for weight loss was simple. He didn’t want to be ‘gross’ in front of women he hoped to date. It may not sound inspiring but it was something that worked for him, accompanying his positive attitude throughout his journey.

Conclusion

Mrfishguy4's weight loss journey at a young age is a testament to how a positive attitude can help motivate, and dietary restrictions and exercise can create effective weight loss. It is important to know that everyone's weight loss journeys can be different- what worked for him might not necessarily work for everyone else, but the takeaway message of perseverance and a positive outlook will inspire anyone looking to change their own lifestyle to reach their goals.
