Introduction

Reddit user LadyLockx recently shared her incredible weight loss journey on the online forum. In just one year, she lost an impressive 75 pounds and reduced her body weight from 222 pounds to 147 pounds.

Her Secret to Success

LadyLockx's routine consisted of mainly clean eating and exercise. First, she cut out all processed foods and refined sugars from her diet. She emphasized that making food at home helped her avoid the high levels of sodium and sugar found in restaurant food. Exercise was equally essential to her weight loss journey. She started off by using the treadmill for 30 minutes to get her heart rate up. LadyLockx eventually started doing steep incline hiking and introduced weights into her routine.

The Importance of Change

LadyLockx found that regularly switching up her workouts was a crucial factor in keeping her weight loss journey exciting and also helped her break through plateaus. She found a passion in Shaun T's T25 workouts, which helped her learn various calisthenic exercises that she incorporated into her own routine. She credited her last 20-pound weight loss to hiking and the T25 workouts.

Her Routine

LadyLockx's workout routine included running 1km and then switching to a full-body workout using weights or dumbbells. She did 12-15 reps for each set and completed a total of three sets. After each set, she ran another 300 meters. She would finish off with six sets of 30-second sprints with laps in between. Some days, instead of weights, she would opt for a fast-paced and steep hike close to her house, and yoga poses for stretching. Her target calorie intake was around 1400-1600 per day.

Find a Buddy

LadyLockx also emphasized the importance of having a workout buddy to provide accountability and motivation. She trained with a friend of hers who had a similar intensity level for their workouts. Her friend helped incorporate routines such as T25 workouts and the steep hike, which made the training day that much more fun and enjoyable.
