Introduction

Losing weight is one of the most challenging things to do. It takes tremendous commitment, discipline and hard work to achieve your desired results. For one 15-year-old, however, it was more than this - it was a transformation. Here's how he did it.

Gaining weight

At 280 pounds, the teenager knew he had to change. Initially, his weight gain was due to a poor diet and lack of exercise. But as he got bigger, it became harder to engage in physical activity, causing him to further gain weight, creating an endless cycle. It wasn't until one day he saw a photo of himself piled up on a couch that he realized he had to make a change.

Joining the LoseIt subreddit

Lurking on the LoseIt subreddit page for quite some time, he decided to take the plunge and join. It was there that he found support, motivation and advice that helped him start his weight loss journey.

Exercising and healthy eating

The teenager began with small changes, such as cutting back on sugary drinks and eating more vegetables. Eventually, he incorporated more exercise into his routine, including weight lifting and cardio. As he became more active, he noticed his energy levels increased as well, making it easier for him to continue.

The results

One year later, he lost 64 pounds, weighing in at 216. The teenager credits the LoseIt subreddit with helping him stay on track and motivated throughout the year. While the journey was not without its challenges, he has no plans to slow down and remains inspired to maintain his healthier lifestyle.
