M/31/6'2" 270(275?)lb > 215lb in ~ 10 months, a loss of over 60 pounds. After some compliments I got today, I wanted to share. I'm not much for exercise outside of riding my motorcycle(believe me, it's exercise)and hiking, I just changed my diet. I make all my own food from scratch.

Introduction

Diet plays an important role in weight management, and the story of a Reddit user named bc2229 highlights this perfectly. He was able to lose over 60 pounds in around 10 months with minimal exercise but strict adherence to a healthy diet. In this article, we'll delve deeper into his journey and the dietary changes he made that helped him shed the weight.

Changes in Diet

bc2229 mentioned that he was averse to exercise, but he was able to lose weight with dietary changes alone. He switched to making all his meals from scratch to have better control of what he eats. He also avoided sugary drinks and started using olive oil instead of butter while cooking. In terms of protein, he preferred pork, chicken, and locally sourced ground beef for his meals. He kept processed food to a minimum, yet allowed himself occasional indulgences such as mac and cheese and a soda pop.

Positive Outcomes

bc2229's journey led to many positive outcomes. His cholesterol levels dropped, and he was able to lose 60 pounds, which greatly improved his chances of avoiding chronic disease. His experience also showed that making healthy meals can be done without breaking the bank or sacrificing taste. He said that his budget for feeding a family of four for a month was under $500.

Lifting Weights and Goal Setting

As he approaches his weight loss from a diet goal, he looks forward to starting weight lifting again, targetting a weight of 200. He believed lifting weights will greatly complement his fitness journey, and prevent the loss of muscle mass. He also tells his readers to start small just as he did, and the ball will keep on rolling. His journey shows that it's not too late to make a change and lead a healthier lifestyle.

Conclusion

The story of bc2229 is an inspiration to many. It emphasizes the importance of dietary changes to lose and maintain weight, and that one does not have to hit the gym every day to get fitter. While everyone's fitness journey is different, bc2229's story shows that even small steps can make a big impact. So, try things out for yourself and see what works for you!
