F/27/5’3”[241 lbs> 165lbs] (~2years) I’ve been in a funk feeling like I’m not losing anymore weight and I’m 10 pounds up after vacation. I had to go back and look at how far I’ve come instead of beating myself up about 10 pounds of vacation weight and loose skin. It’s a journey!

The Beginning of the Weight Loss Journey

The user, iamnojedi95, started her weight loss journey at 241 lbs, feeling stuck and in a funk after gaining 10 pounds from a vacation. However, instead of beating herself up over it, she went back to look at her progress and was proud of how far she has come.

The Importance of Progress Over Setbacks

The user also emphasized the importance of progress over setbacks, telling herself that it's a journey and not to be discouraged with a slight setback. She received an overwhelming amount of support from other users, who reminded her to be kind to herself, and that ''health is a lifelong journey, and you look like you're headed in the right direction.''

The Struggle of Slow Weight Loss

As she lost more weight, progress became slower and more difficult, but she found calorie counting to be the best method for her. It allowed her to eat what she wanted as long as it fit within her daily goals. She also struggled with binge eating for years but found that calorie counting helped with that as well. And, while not overnight, she found her excess weight melting away slowly but surely.

Appreciating Small Victories

The user's post has since become an inspiration to many, with one user even saying ''We are on a life journey and there's bound to be ups and downs. You are doing great!'' Her post shows that long-term progress beats short-term failures, and small victories are still victories.

Closing Thoughts

The takeaway from this reddit user's inspiring weight loss journey is that setbacks will happen, but it's important to focus on progress and appreciate small victories. Weight loss is a difficult journey for most, but with a little bit of patience, self-love and perseverance, anything is possible.
