Introduction

Losing weight is not an overnight process. It requires patience, consistency and dedication. As a 31-year-old male weighing 215lbs, I knew I needed to make a change. After two years of cutting out alcohol, dairy and processed carbs, I lost 30lbs and I am feeling better than ever.

Alcohol: My First Step

Alcohol can be a significant factor in gaining weight. Not only is it high in calories, but it can also lead to overeating and poor food choices. In my case, I was drinking beer almost every night, which caused me to put on weight. I decided to cut back on alcohol and found that it helped me to lose weight.

Dairy: A Surprising Discovery

I had no idea that dairy was affecting my weight until I cut it out of my diet. Before, I was eating cheese and drinking milk every day. After removing dairy from my diet, I realized that I was not only losing weight, but I was also feeling better. I discovered that dairy was causing inflammation in my body which was contributing to my weight gain.

Processed Carbs: The Final Cut

Processed carbs, such as bread, pasta, and rice, are high in calories and low in nutrients. They are often the culprit behind weight gain. I made the decision to cut out processed carbs from my diet and replace them with healthy, whole foods. This change was not easy, but it ultimately paid off. I lost weight and gained more energy throughout the day.

Conclusion: Taking the First Step

Losing weight can be a daunting task. It is essential to remember that it is a process that requires patience, consistency, and dedication. My weight loss journey was not easy, but it was worth it. I encourage anyone who is struggling with their weight to try cutting out alcohol, dairy, and processed carbs from their diet. It may seem difficult at first, but the results are worth it.
