The Beginning of a Transformation

After a year and a half, Reddit user j4de-mp4, now 19 years old and 5’5”, has lost 28 lbs, going from 178 to 150 to 148. A long-time lurker, she finally posted about her progress and is proud of her achievement.

The Power of Consistency

J4de-mp4 credits her success to being consistent with her gym routine, going three to six times a week, and only skipping when she’s sick. Rather than forcing herself to do workouts she doesn’t like, she focuses on enjoyable exercise options such as biking, hiking, and powerlifting to stay motivated for the long haul.

Intuitive Eating and Switching Up Diets

Switching to a healthy-ish diet after becoming lactose and gluten intolerant helped J4de-mp4 to switch up her eating habits. She focuses on intuitive eating, not counting calories or measuring food, and opting for healthy options when she can. She also treats herself to dark chocolate every day for dessert.

Comparing Yourself to You

J4de-mp4 believes the key to success is to not compare yourself to others, but rather focus on your own journey. Every individual’s body is different, and setting goals that are achievable for the foreseeable future is important for sustainable success. A healthy relationship with food and exercise is also critical.

Celebrating Victories

As someone who enjoys taking pictures of herself, J4de-mp4 is pleased with the progress of her transformation. In addition to being proud of her weight loss, she’s also excited to now focus on gaining muscle to further enhance her physical strength and appearance.
