M/27/5’7” [153lbs > 182lbs =29lbs] 7 years progress. The top row is 20, before I started properly training. 7 years is a long time but it’s been a slow grind and I couldn’t be happier with the progress and where I am at now but there’s still a ways to go :)

Introduction

It’s not often that we’ve seen a weight loss success story that lasts for seven long years. The internet is full of weight loss stories that tend to focus on the initial weight loss process. However, this success story on Reddit, posted by user talusprain, documents a long-term journey towards a healthier body. Talusprain’s goal was never to lose weight quickly. Instead, his progress came from hard work and consistency.

Weight Training

Talusprain attributes much of his success to compound movements and isolation movements, which he focused on to increase his delt mass. He recommends plenty of free weights and cable exercises for lateral muscles in order to get the most out of his training sessions. His advice is to use lower weights with higher reps and a variation of exercises. Compound movements that focus on the entire body, like squats and deadlifts, remain a core part of his routine.

Diet

A meat-based diet and lots of calories (ranging from 3800 to 4500) play a crucial part in Talusprain’s consistent weight gain. However, he admits that he doesn’t consistently count his calories. Instead, he will re-evaluate his diet and calorie intake every few months to assess his goals and adjust accordingly.

Inspiration and Encouragement

Talusprain’s Reddit post has received numerous comments of admiration, congratulation, and inspiration. The progress he has made over seven years is an example of how hard work, consistency, and a support system can go a long way. His journey to a healthier body didn’t happen overnight, but rather through dedication and commitment. Talusprain’s story provides a lesson for those looking to start their weight loss journeys: everyone's progress is different but with consistent effort, it is possible to achieve your goals.

Conclusion

Talusprain’s success story in his journey towards a healthier body and lifestyle is one that can inspire others to start their weight loss journey. Through a combination of diligent training, calorie intake control, consistent effort, and a strong support system, Talusprain took control of his fitness journey and achieved incredible results. His post serves as a reminder to anyone who is struggling in their weight loss journey to keep going and that progress is possible.
