Introduction

A user on Reddit documented their weight loss journey and progress over the course of three months. They started at 156lbs and managed to lose 11lbs during this time while trying to stick to their New Year's goals of lifting more and getting stronger.

Advice and Tips

The user asked for advice and tips to help them with their weight loss journey. One user suggested that focusing on getting stronger was a better approach than focusing solely on weight loss. Another user suggested including unilateral movements in their workout routine to protect their body and prevent injuries. Consistency is key with any workout routine, and adding new movements and settings can help prevent the routine from getting stale.

Unilateral Movements

Unilateral movements are exercises that stress one side of the body specifically, as opposed to equal weight distribution. Examples of unilateral movements include single leg straight leg deadlifts, front foot elevated split squats, single-arm chest press, and single-arm row. These exercises force stabilizer muscles in the joints to maintain balance and structure.

Workout Routine

The user shared their workout routine, which involves going to the gym four days a week. Their split includes quads and glutes, back and biceps, hamstrings and glutes, and chest, triceps, and shoulders. They also go for walks every day for 20-40 minutes, which helps with weight loss and overall health.

Conclusion

The Reddit user's weight loss journey serves as a great example of committing to New Year's goals and sticking with them. By incorporating new exercises and getting advice from others, they were able to lose 11 pounds while getting stronger and healthier. It is essential to find a workout routine that works for you and stick to it to achieve your fitness goals.
