Struggling with being underweight

Edge_basics had been underweight through his youth and college years but ultimately gained 50 lbs over the span of 6 years through weight lifting. His commitment to exercising and following consistent routines allowed for steady progress over the course of two years. His transformation provides hope to others struggling with being underweight.

Gym anxiety and overcoming it

The fear of being perceived as weak and the anxiety of being around fit people proved to be a major challenge for Edge_basics. The biggest breakthrough was finally walking into the gym and putting his plan to action, emphasizing that his biggest obstacle lay within his own head. He encourages others to try things out for themselves, and to not get in their own heads too much.

Balancing exercise and food consumption

Another component of Edge_basics journey was finding the right nutrition plan not only to fuel his weight-lifting routine, but to also stimulate his weight gain. In this sense, he had to be consistent with his approach and maintain a clean, healthy diet. His 10 to 15% calorie surplus proved beneficial in allowing him to gain weight gradually while also being healthy.

Building muscle and growing arms

While the effects of aging and metabolism may vary, edge_basics emphasizes the importance of commitment to exercising and maintaining a healthy diet. Building muscle can be an arduous process, and some parts of the body may grow at a slower rate than others. When asked how he grew his arms, he admits that he didn't see much progress in that area. However, he believes in fostering a long-term commitment to the process, which will eventually lead to tangible results.

Final thoughts

Edge_basics' journey and progress is an inspiration to those who may be struggling with their weight or physical appearance. It emphasizes the importance of consistent exercise and a healthy, balanced diet. He acknowledges that everyone's journey is unique and that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to building muscle or gaining weight. However, his message of perseverance and commitment aims to encourage individuals to try things out for themselves and see what works best for them.
