Introduction

A Reddit user, adrenalina21, successfully transformed his body over 5 months from a skinny-fat physique to a fitter, more muscular one. Through resistance training and careful cycling of caloric intake, he lost fat and gained muscle, all while avoiding intense cardio.

Starting Point

Adrenalina21 was initially concerned with what to do to transform his body. Advice on how to go about losing fat and gaining muscle conflicted, but he eventually settled on a moderate calorie deficit for the first 3 months, resulting in a 3lb weight loss. He then cycled to a moderate calorie surplus for the final 2 months, gaining 4lbs, which he intends to continue.

Resistance Training

Adrenalina21 performed resistance training 3-4 times a week throughout his journey. This undoubtedly helped him lose fat and gain muscle simultaneously. Doing resistance training also offers benefits such as improved posture, better balance, and increased bone density.

Avoiding Cardio

Through the 5 months, adrenalina21 avoided intense cardio exercise. Despite this, he still lost fat and gained muscle, which goes to show that cardio is not essential for weight loss or body transformation. Instead, he mostly relied on walking to increase his daily calorie burn.

Conclusion

Adrenalina21's weight journey is proof that carefully cycling caloric intake and resistance training can lead to a fitter, leaner, and healthier physique. While not everyone's body will react similarly, it's worth trying out to see if it works for you. Remember, everyone's journey is unique and finding what works for you is key!
